As Chief of the Bureau of Health Preparedness, Tamara McBride oversees the preparedness budget and expectations for the state of Ohio. She works with the federal government, state and local programs to develop effective planning documents and tools that support a comprehensive and coordinated public health response to emergencies.
Tamara leads efforts to provide ODH with expertise and resources in the areas of emergency response planning for local health departments, hospital, and other disciplines to build a stronger more resilient state.
Prior to joining ODH in 2014, she led the state's crisis and risk communication branch at the Ohio Emergency Management Agency for six years. Tamara also served as Director of Marketing and Communications for the City of Cleveland Department of Public Health. Tamara is a proud graduate from Ohio University where she received her bachelors degree and Ursuline College where she received her masters degree.
